HERON COLLECTIVE PRESENT TENDERLONIOUS
We’re back even bigger this year after our sell out night at the Zombie Shack and Charity Night in Withington, we’d like to welcome you to The Night & Day Cafe in the Northern Quarter.
Our first headliner this year is 22a Music’s Tenderlonious. Tender has played all over the world both as a DJ and musician (flute/saxophone). The 22a label boss is bandleader of both Ruby Rushton and The 22archestra. One of the pioneers of this current wave of UK Jazz musicians, he also produces House and Electronica and has collaborated with the likes of Osunlade, Henry Wu, Bradley Zero and many more.
He released his most recent album ‘The Shakedown’ in June this year, a timeless LP recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios by the 22archestra and featuring lauded drummer Yussef Dayes (formerly of Yussef Kamaal). The album presents an incredibly diverse dip into multiple genres from Groove-heavy Jazz, to Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Latin and even the Spiritual side of things; you have to check it out. With a collaborative album with Poland’s finest EABS out this November, Tender is at the top of his game and we can’t wait to have him down.
On the 14th, he will be playing his renowned live PA set for us; mixing his unique DJ skills with his musicianship. He will be mixing House, Jazz, Hip Hop, the works with his signature live flute over the top! You’re guaranteed to be entranced by this experience. Not one to be missed. So grab a ticket whilst they’re still available on Skiddle (via the link attached to this page) – just £4 Earlybirds.
Warming up for Tender will be Resident DJ and co-founder of Heron Collective Solis play B2B2B with his fellow Heron Collective members for a Brazilian themed set to suit the vibrantly decorated Northern Quarter venue. We will be inviting back Ingi to lay down the freshest house and electronica tunes. The Grandmixer the one and only Caro Project’s DJ Hard Brexit will be filling the room with ambient and funky sounds. Last but not least, The Welsh Bob Ross, a DJ who has performed at Manchester venues like Night People will be bringing the thunder with an eclectic selection.
Pen this one into your diaries because it’s about to go off at The Night and Day Cafe! Also, don’t forget to like our page as we’re going to start posting mixes on there again, continuing on from last year, and will begin to post music-related reviews of venues, albums artists, you name it. We look forward to hosting you all in a month’s time!
