The first band on will be LIINES, who have already played Night & Day earlier this year to a sell out crowd. They’re a post-punk trio.
LIINES are building a reputation as one of Manchester’s most exciting and powerful live acts; tipped by John Kennedy (Radio X) as ‘Ones To Watch 2016’, featured on BBC 6 Music (Tom Robinson) and BBC Introducing Manchester.
? Louder Than War “Powerful post-punk..brings in touches of grunge and new wave and blend the best of the rest for a fresh sound of their own – a sound that you need to hear”.
? The Quietus: “Tight-as-you-like snarly pop coated in a holy racket of guitar noise.”
? Gigslutz “One of the most refreshing sounds to emerge not just from Manchester but from anywhere”
The second band on will be The Imogen Styles. They’re an electropop duo and will be launching their debut single on the night (more details to follow).
The Imogen Styles offer nothing more – but absolutely nothing less – than the sheer giddy visceral thrills associated with a classic Top Of The Pops performance, complete with high energy electro synths, flashy retina-searing visuals, some serious pouting and a surplus of double hand claps. Basically, imagine the opposite of an acoustic set. Imagine if the Pet Shop Boys were fronted by Jarvis Cocker, with Chris Lowe reincarnated as a sassy bitch. That’s what THE IMOGEN STYLES are all about.
THE JUNTA combine the classic sounds of early Human League, Cabaret Voltaire, Kraftwerk, Ultravox and Jean Michel Jarre to create a mesmerising electronic pop soundscape like no other. A one man solo endeavour, THE JUNTA released his debut album ‘Art Of Glass’ back in 2014 on German Shepherd Records and has been regularly releasing tracks since to an appreciative audience.
