Night and Day Cafe alongside Sailor Jerry bring you a monthly showcase of bands we love to bits. What’s more, everyone coming to the show gets a free Sailor Jerry and mixer courtesy of the fine folks at Sailor Jerry.
Four North-West musicians have emerged, dripping in Northern Noir, from their drummer, Ben’s, childhood bedroom. Complete with self-recorded demos and a developed live show, they are ready to present their noisy wonky grunge experience: Rosa Canina.
THE MODE 7 PROJECT
Combining the stripped-down minimalism of Suicide, the dancefloor glide of Giorgio Moroder and the icy atmosphere of 16-bit video game soundtracks, The Mode 7 Project is the work of Salford-based musician Liam Moody. Utilising purely analogue machinery, The Mode 7 Project is a mixture of gritty disco, synthpunk and retrofuture-styled soundscapes, heavily infused with a DIY mentality.
THE AMBER LIST
If The Amber List were furniture, you might describe them as pre-loved. Formed in March 2017 in a Works Unit Only layby on the M6, the four band members have clocked up many music miles between them, and so knew they were onto a good thing. Peppered with harmonic interludes and touched with atmospherics, their songs range from 60’s folk-tinged ballads to indie pop. We visit Planet Skiffle by way of the Great Barrier Riff.
Dead Circus are electronic producers from Wigan combining organic elements of guitar and wavvy synths with samples and vocal glitches, underlined with crooning, melancholy lyrics. The duo count on New Order, The XX and Tame Impala as their influences, and offer a pensive yet danceable finish.
