Drown is the artist name of Manchester born Will Rush. Drown has been writing and performing his own music alongside his acting career since being 14. His driving force as a musician lies lyrically. This being the reason he taught himself to play the guitar and then later, the piano. His career took him to live in Australia a couple of years ago, where he starred as the lead role George Young in the critically acclaimed ABC Drama series ‘Friday On My Mind’. A lot was learnt here, he returned home to the piano with a head full of lyrics and a heart full of ache.
“You could call it dream pop that sounds like a collaboration between Cocteau Twins, School Of Seven Bells, and Luke Vibert…” Dan Hegarty, RTE Radio Ireland
“O’Sullivan in my view is one of the best electro-pop acts in Ireland ….Underground finishes with a contemplative, experimental and moving track in the shape of ‘Games & Toys’ (Ode to a Punk Boy) which is nicely executed, Eno meets Oldfield, but only because Femmepop has invited them” Remys Music & Film Blog, Dublin
“It’s clear that the constant hard work and prolific live performance that O’Sullivan does – something that’s obvious from having followed her on social media for the past couple of years – has had a profound effect on her already considerable talent as a musician and producer. If her musical evolution between DWM and this is any measure to go by, then I’m already excited to hear what she does next” Electric North
“We’ve been impressed with the careful build-up of Femmepop’s career strategy,Every ambitious artist whose aim is to make a living from music has to tread a fine line between pop accessibility and artistic credibility…Margaret has achieved that ideal balance. We wish her well” Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
“Straight away I’m going to tell you that I love this album. There is something that has to be respected when you have an artist that creates a work essentially all by themselves. Written, recorded and produced by Margaret O’Sullivan, AKA Femmepop … we have one solid pop album, all created as a very much DIY effort” Curve Magazine, New York
“CYM – It’s a wonderful conclusion to an impressively diverse collection of electronic songs, over a long period of time Femmepop has been arriving at this point through graft, passion, and a desire to blow apart the boundaries of her own musical horizons” Remy’s Music & Film Blog, Dublin.
“Like it a Lot” Marc Riley BBC Music 6
