WALKING ON MOUNTAINS

Walking on Mountains are an alternative rock band formed in Sheffield in 2018. Formerly performing as ‘Infirmity’, the band re-branded and re-launched in August 2018 with all new material and content. Drawing influence from the likes of Bring Me The Horizon and Linkin Park, through to Muse and Royal Blood, the band strives to combine ambient, dynamic synth textures with contemporary, driven guitar riffs and catchy choruses. The first release, Infiltrator marks the start of a new, varied portfolio of content to be released in the coming months. Behind the scenes, the band are self-managed and produce all of their own website, music and video content in a selection of tiny bedrooms in South Yorkshire.

DAKOTA AVENUE

Soulful-indie, reggae and pop trio ‘Dakota Avenue’ are set to drop huge single ‘Dead Men Don’t Grin’ on ‘Friday 20th’ April – their first of many in 2018. In regards to their sound, they have a hefty mission to combine groove, atmosphere and pop-hooks. The lads have a driven, yet reserved drum and bass section provide a perfect base for some U2’s Edge-glitter and some Alex Turner-inspired lyrics. Jacob composes and demos the music on Logic, taking great inspiration from Feeders’ Grant Nicholas. Originally, frontman Jacob Greenhalgh-Lee formed the band at college in MediaCityUK, Salford in 2014. He had self-released a 7 song EP under the name of Born Hippie, but craved company onstage, so formed Dave. After a few soft-releases and gigs, Jacob met fellow bandmates, Andy Wynn and Frank Harris at BIMM and will soon hit the studio with new tunes for 2018.

HEROINE

Formed in mid 2017 by vocalist Becky Chamberlain, guitarists Luke Jones and Stan Bean, bassist Josh Hinchliffe and drummer Caitlin Williams, this five piece began writing and creating songs which have been likened to a ‘Grungy version of Radiohead’. Having recently begun to gig in their hometown of Manchester, they released their debut single “Damsel” in August 2018, and are currently recording their second single.
