Beeswaxx

The return to Night & Day Café off the back of the summer break was a raging success with the spirit & energy between the artists & punters at its highest we’ve ever seen – a great exhibition of the reason we throw these events. Since 4am that night, when the lovely N&D staff had to peel DJ Lunar off the CDJ’s, we’ve been chomping at the bit to release the next shindig. Our 5th event at NQ’s finest music joint might just be our favourite yet – once again celebrating the freshest and best from Manchester’s underground. Expect good energy and party vibes from the live PA’s & DJ sets throughout the night, once again all for the price of a pint. Come through, shake a leg and immerse yourself in the crème de la Manc.

CON M1 & S V M I

Vocalists, rappers, videographers… call them what you want but one thing’s for sure, Con M1 & Svmi are the latest local lyricists turning heads North West to the rainy paradise. Whilst their individual outputs hold their own vibe, both artists are synonymous with infectious hooks & effortless swagger – demonstrated perfectly in their recent collaboration ‘Time Goes By’, with both artists performing the track & shooting the video – the DIY approach typical of this city’s ethos. A familiar trap-style infused with a cheeky Manc twist makes their tracks fit for any party that can handle them… Night & Day Café better nail down that roof because this one’s going off!

Akemi Fox

Neo-soul in 2019 is a crowded market – to stand out you need not only pitch-perfect harmonies, but an unfathomable element to your sound that gets away from the listener the more they try to define it – in-come Akemi Fox. The 20-year-old from Manchester has a long career ahead of her and has already joined the growing list of local artists attracting attention from BBC Music Introducing - for whom she performed a live stripped back version of her hit track ‘Disposable’ with producer Teo (also a Manc) playing the keys. It’s been said before and it’ll be said again – ‘Manchester is where the soul is’ and Akemi Fox is flying the flag high for that notion. Another gem we’re happy to have locked down while we still can!

Victoria Jane

From one 20-year-old to the next, Victoria Jane has been making serious movement in the city, applying her spectacular voice to a new school hip-hop/RnB vibe, making music way ahead of her time. The most exciting element about the wealth of emerging talent spilling from the city is how accomplished the music already sounds, with Victoria’s outputs epitomising this. Another artist with more than one trick up her sleeve, you can find her producing rhythms as well as blessing them with her harmonies. We’re more than hyped to witness her energy burst from the stage.

Joey Bricks

Off the back of a banging release and UK tour with the Menagerie crew, Joey Bricks is right at the top of his game. One of two wizards behind A Broken Camarilla’s beats; Joey’s production style is deep and atmospheric with old school infusions from, but not limited to, the worlds of garage, house and hip-hop. When it comes to the 1s & 2s, the man can select and the people know it, with a noticeable energy shift on the dancefloor whenever he steps in the spot. His sets are a masterclass in the art of DJing & we’re blessed to call him a Beeswaxx resident.   Throughout the night the rest of our residents will be keeping the vibes alive - delivering Funk, Garage, Hip-hop, Disco, Dnb and all the rest - see you down the front!
